WENDY
WILL CASE CANCER FUND, INC.
On December 14, 2011 the Board of the Wendy Will Case Cancer Fund reluctantly decided that we no longer possess the financial and administrative capabilities to continue our work. Accordingly, our Board decided to dissolve the Corporation and turn over the funds on hand to an organization better equipped at this time to achieve the vision of the Fund's founder, Judge Hubert Will.
Established in memory of Judge Will's daughter, Wendy, who lost her battle with cancer at age 39, the Fund sought to promote and support cancer research by young, promising scientists in need of "seed money" to continue their work and to establish the validity of their ideas. Throughout its 27 years, the Fund awarded grants totaling more than $6 million, resulting in over 200 research projects at more than 100 different institutions. Many of the research endeavors we supported ultimately enabled these young researchers to receive full funding from premier funding organizations, such as the American Cancer Society and National Cancer Institute.
We truly appreciate your longstanding support and generosity toward this worthwhile cause. Your participation has left an indelible imprint in the field of cancer research.
